We are excited about our collaboration with Gridmates to facilitate energy donations that will help power the Mobile Loaves & Fishes’ Community First! Village. This 27-acre master-planned community is designed to lift disabled, chronically homeless men and women of Central Texas off the streets into community and home with permanent, affordable and sustainable housing and caring support.
Just imagine a world where people everywhere donate a small portion of their available energy to others in need. Gridmates is making that happen by creating the world’s first cloud platform to enable peer-to-peer energy sharing. With your support, this crowdsourced energy will provide lighting, heating, and cooling as well as electricity for cooking, laundry, hot showers and more, for communities of people in need.
Gridmates is supporting Community First! Village as part of its corporate mission to help end energy poverty locally and globally!
Join us and together Community First! Village will pioneer the world’s first community powered by crowdsourced energy. ENERGY POWERED BY YOU!
What an amazing year 2014 has been for Mobile Loaves & Fishes!
Because of you and your ongoing support, this year we:
* Celebrated 16 years of service to the homeless,
* Served nearly 4 million meals,
* Added the Art House and Blacksmithing to the ROADS Micro-enterprise program, and
* Celebrated the groundbreaking of the Community First! Village.
Thank you for partnering with Mobile Loaves & Fishes as we work together to provide food, clothing and promote dignity to our brothers and sisters in need.
As you welcome in the New Year with family and friends, we hope you’ll pray for God to continue to use Mobile Loaves & Fishes to bring hope to the homeless in 2015.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes is honored to have been awarded a $37,800 grant from the Walmart Foundation in support of our service to the homeless. “This is the year we plan to bring our homeless brothers and sisters home to the Community First! Village. We have much work to do, and this grant will go a long way in helping us lift our homeless friends off the street and into community and home,” said Alan Graham Mobile Loaves & Fishes Founder and President.
Mobile Loaves & Fishes is grateful to the Walmart Foundation for again awarding a $37,800 grant to the MLF Truck Program at our largest commissary located at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. In 2010, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation launched “Fighting Hunger Together”-a $2 billion cash and in-kind commitment through 2015 to help end hunger in America. “We will have served nearly 4 million meals by the end of this year,” said Elizabeth Hunt, MLF Grant Manager.
“The Walmart Foundation has helped us achieve this milestone with the generous grant support we received in November 2012 and January 2014. With this additional grant, we will be able to serve more nutritious meals to those living on the streets of Austin into 2015.”
